Volunteers

The Huron County Victim Assistance Program currently has a core group of volunteers who assist staff with a variety of tasks and activities.

Volunteers are trained to assist victims with:

• 24-hour rape crisis program


• Municipal court


• Civil Protection Orders


• Victims of Crime Applications

Our volunteers devote time and energy to special projects such as:

• Social Service Expo


• Victims Rights Week


• Community Awareness


• Fund Raising


• Various Office Duties

Volunteer Trainings are conducted twice annually, in the fall and in the spring. (see upcoming sessions below) Trainings are 16 hours in length and address issues of victimization, including sexual assault issues, domestic violence issues, the criminal justice system, VINE, Ohio Victims of Crime Compensation Program, crisis intervention and community resources.
